  1. All,

I am trying to download a flash file that is being viewed in a non-standard player. Are there any pieces of software out there that would let me grab the "source"? I have tried Moyea, Replay, Realplayer (only got the audio), the Firefox add-ons, etc. with no luck.

    Here is the page: http://www.pictage.com/photographer/slideshows/viewslideshow?slideshowid=4169&slidesho...qnhtgewelnjmzz

In the end, I would like this slideshow as an mpg. I tried using SnagIt but the quality was terrible.

    Thanks for your help!

I would try streamtransport (free) or if that wont work another screen capture tool like replay video capture.

  3. Neither of those worked. StreamTransport could not find the video URL, and Replay only produced a blank file

    Any other suggestions?

RealPlayer did too ... now all I need are the images

Even if I can't get them both with the same tool, I can always splice them together ...

  6. The images and audio are automatically downloaded in your temp internet directory of your browser cache, you can find them there

    You could try this:
    - delete all temporary files in IE
    - run VideoCacheView (http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/video_cache_view.html)
    - load the page in IE

Maybe you can get the video file that way. VCV should work flawlessly with IE, don't know if it does with other browsers too.

  10. VideoCacheView only found the music too ...

So there's really no hope? Are there any video recording apps that would give me better resolution than SnagIt?

    Thanks everyone for your help.

  11. this isn't a video; this is a slideshow, the .swf and accessory files allow for the show and transitions

the actual assets, the individual .jpg photos and music are stored in your temp internet directory, you can make your own slideshow with a program or editor

if you want to record the screen , use something like camtasia. You can even record uncompressed or lossless compression (Huge filesizes), and then re-encode to mpeg2 or whatever format you wish later

  12. That makes sense. Thanks!

the actual pictures aren't sent to the temp folder. all you get is a xml list of the load order. this is part of it.

    load=/home/image/proxydb/L/B/LB105/2009/729415/01/01_D_S_0001.jpg|prop=below&amp;wdth=630&amp;hite=6 30&amp;cb=0|flush</url></image><image><ordernumber>30</ordernumber><scannum>4</scannum><url>http://c15.cache.pictage.com/servlet/PIS?awmarkg=/home/image/anssets/watermarks/LB105/LB1052009.jpg|load=/home/image/proxydb/L/B/LB105/2009/729415/01/04_D_S_0004.jpg|prop=below&amp;wdth=630&amp;hite=6 30&amp;cb=2|flush</url></image><image><ordernumber>31</ordernumber><scannum>6</scannum><url>http://c15.cache.pictage.com/servlet/PIS?cwmarkj=/home/image/agssets/watermarks/LB105/LB1052009.jpg|load=/home/image/proxydb/L/B/LB105/2009/729415/01/06_D_S_0006.jpg|prop=below&amp;wdth=630&amp;hite=6 30&amp;cb=0|flush</url></image></images></data></response>

I got audio in camtasia, it has to be toggled on, and make sure your global audio settings are on as well. Personally I wouldn't use the audio from camtaisa, because if you record it as lossless , you will have a generation loss when you re-encode it (unless you plan on leaving it as wav). It would be better just to mux in the original audio

Well you have jpg, and audio, you can make it yourself easily in slideshow software, or any editor. You could even use the recorded "video" and overlay the audio
